No, that is not my argument at all.. Fauxbama knows damned well using the term would bring up rememberence of Palin’s line, and that’s exactly what he intended, but he didn’t mean for it or intend for it to imply Palin is a pig.

Look, here’s what some folks here are missing. The left (many of them) view Palin as the lipstick. McCain/Bush are the pigs, and they are trying to use her to make them look palpable. That’s clearly what his remark was implying, he wasn’t talking about Palin being the same old same old, in the sentences leading up the comment, he was talking about Bush/McCain.

By using the lipstick line he was trying to usurp it, and blunt the popularity that Palin has brought to the ticket, through ridicule of the republicans using their own word.. that’s a GIVEN sound bite for the evening news and since they have been on the defensive since 2 fridays ago when Palin was announced, something they sorely need.

Sadly though it was a stupid move, because what he said can so easily be edited and portrayed to look like he called Palin a pig, and it has been. I really have no problem with pundents or surrogates doing that, that’s what they do, but the McCain campaign itself to date has managed to stay out of that fray and remained above the allegations of lies and out of contex, etc etc etc that the rabid leftists throw. Now with this ad, he’s clearly engaged in it, so what was up until this point a charge easily dismissed, now this one act has given some credence to it, and that’s not something we need.

I think Palin’s response to it when question was absolutely spot on, Which was something along the lines of not believe how stupid it was, and how can she be offended by something so stupid? That’s a fine response, and frankly true. Politically it was stupid, beyond stupid.

Fauxbama is running the worst presidential campaign in my lifetime IMHO, and yes I’m counting the Bush 92 and Dole 96 campaigns in that. He’s out on the stump mocking things that most americans believe in because they don’t agree with him, not pointing out difference in political stands, but blatantly and openly mocking the parts of the electorate.. the worst was the mocking of the “DRILL BABY DRILL” chant... lets face it, you stand up there and openly mock something 70% of the people want, that’s now how you get elected.

The mans a schlub and he is a gaffe machine, this politically is a gaffe because of how easily it can be spun, and it was just stupid to do... but what he said was not “Palin is a Pig”, no way you get there if you hear or read what he said in its entirety, but of course its being spun that way and that’s a damaging hit he’s taking because he just couldn’t stop himself from trying to delivere a juvenile line that he thought would get the sound bite.

Well, he got the sound bite alright, but it won’t be for the reasons he’s wanted. He just cost himself easily 1-2 days of news cycle by this stupid stupid thing.

Libs keep telling me hes so smart and he thinks unlike the republicans, yet for all the thinking this guy supposedly is capable of doing, I have yet to see him make one smart move, not one.

So your argument indeed is that Obama was the only person in the room who didn’t make the connection between the wearers of the lipstick?

That would make him pretty stupid indeed. Stupider even than I can credit.
