I would love to live in a world where there was no need for national defense. We spend hundreds of billions in defense spending each year. Yet, the world as we know it would be very different without our large standing military. The way the Cold War turned out would have been very different if not for our military. And not having any defense would have invited more Sept. 11th’s. I was grateful after Sept. 11th that we had the ability to respond.

Leftists are idealists and just aren’t realistic about certain things.

Yes, leftists have always wanted to cut our military to the bone just like BO has said he will do if elected, for that one reason alone he is scary.

With out our strong military, I see Saddam Hussein owning the middle east and a sea full of pirates. Lord knows what else.

Would you be surprised to know that almost $19.5 trillion of the federal budget (roughly $26 trillion total) is spent on entitlement programs? Contrast that with our defense outlay of $550-$600 billion.
