Barack Obama had a Muslim father, which as far as Islam is concerned makes him a Muslim for life, any deviation from which brings an automatic death penalty. He spent at least four of his most formative years learning the Koran in Arabic at a madrassa in Indonesia. Given the upbringing, to call what he said in that tape a potential Freudian slip, even out of context, is entirely appropriate. This is reinforced by three observations: First, his 20-year membership in Jeremiah Wright's racist church was admittedly for political, not religious reasons (per his own writing and the Saul Alinsky model). Second, it is permitted for a Muslim to lie and/or pretend conversion as long as it is done for the faith, while a true conversion, particularly to Judeo-Christianity, brings an automatic death sentence. Finally, and as confirmation of the prior, to my knowledge, no fatwa against Barack Obama for his supposed conversion to Christianity has been issued by any Muslim cleric on earth, no matter how radical, despite his public profession to be a Christian (his many close associations with prominent black Muslims notwithstanding). Indeed, he was endorsed today by Mr. Ahmadinejad.

If “The One” had truly cast aside Islam for Christianity, why in the world would he be named “Barak Obama” and not Barry Soetoro?

I really don’t think Obama is a Muslim. He was exposed to it as a kid sure, but Muslims - crazy as they are — don’t snort coke. He has Muslim sympathies as they relate to the usual lib interpretation of black identity. I also doubt he believes the crap Wright was spewing, although his wife may. This guy is a careerist above all and went along with what you had to do to get ahead on the South Side. Look how uncomfortable he is talking faith at Saddleback. Black babies don’t get aborted too? He holds an atheistic/humanistic worldview just like 99.9% of the Ivy League Libs out there. The rest is just a sop to whoever he happens to be trying to impress at the time.
