No. Section 8i of the Flag Code reads: "It should not be ... printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard."

So printing them and chucking them in trash by the 1000's is fine but oh boy, don't let it hit the ground, but later, go ahead and chuck it in a barrel with dirty diapers and other garbage that's fine, whatever ....

I agree, its a non issue. Images of the flag get put on address labels all the time. and where do those envelopes wind up? The trash, like you pointed out. I see we've arrived at the point in the election where the Republicans can do no wrong and the Dems get numerous threads for the slightest infraction real or perceived.

Hey, I found this image on someone's flickr site, let's track them down and demonize them. /sarcasm

Can you see a distinction between "images of the flag" and "the flag?"
