The Talk Shows
Sunday, September 7th, 2008
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Obama chief strategist David Axelrod and McCain campaign manager Rick Davis.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Republican presidential nominee John McCain.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Sens. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas; Gov. Tim Kaine, D-Va.; Obama campaign adviser Robert Gibbs; McCain economic adviser Nancy Pfotenhauer.
What I’d worry about more is putting Palin in a situation where she has to defend McCain’s policies and actions.
Mayor Nutter of Philadelphia. I know you can’t make this stuff up!
Lol I thought you were kidding.
Apparently, Sarah Palin will have her first interview on ABC

I was wondering the same thing till I remembered that, despite the many good things about him, he IS a gun grabber. Maybe there's more to it.
IMO if it comes down to a choice between him and her, he goes, she stays.
Governor Palin emerged, drew fire, revealed the enemy's position and disappeared again into the crowd.
You are sweet MM but grabbing a video and posting it somewhere are way beyond my talents wish I knew how.
Thanks, I rarely venture over to LA Times.
FNC just had a documentary on McCain, and they’re now running one on the big 0. They just said that in graduated Columbia in 1983 and I think they said they interviewed about 400 people in the school at the time, but no one remembers him, including George Steffy, who was in the class before him. IIRC he’s not releasing his records from Columbia and/or they can’t find them or both - don’t take this as true - it’s just what I seem to remember reading and I don’t have time to research right now. Someone else may remember this.
Sorry, but I couldn’t help but comment on a couple of the comments:
“CHICAGO - An unlikely visitor came calling one day in 1986 at the offices of the tony Chicago conservation group Friends of the Parks: a gangly, boyish community organizer from the rough-and-tumble far South Side named Barack Obama.
Dressed in a black leather bomber jacket, he made his pitch softly and earnestly to the group’s community planner. Parents in the blighted, minority neighborhoods where he worked were desperate for safe, inviting play areas for their kids, but they lacked clout. Friends of the Parks had clout but sought ways to increase its efforts for minorities.
Together, Obama argued, the two groups could persuade Chicago’s recalcitrant parks district to improve green areas on the far South Side, which had been devastated by steel-plant closings.”
My comment: this was before he attended Harvard beginning, I belive in 1988; however, after he had supposedly attended Columbia and he had studied Alinsky and been involved w the Communist, Frank Davis.
“He had an air of authority and a presence that made you want to listen,” Owens said.
My comment: He still has an ‘air’ - at his debate w Hillary and his convention speech - his chin was up in the air - I read it as I’m cool and better than all of you. Guess his presence and speaking w them included less uhs than his speaking w/o a teleprompter does now.
“Barack realized that to get things done, you need to mobilize people in a collaborative way,” said Gerald Kellman, the Chicago community organizer who hired Obama to work in the far South Side in 1985.
“He was a bridge-builder,” recalled Friends of the Parks president Erma Tranter.
My comments: I don’t see that he’s tried to build any bridges or colloborate w anyone but the Dims in the Senate.
I have never seen such desperation from the drive-bys. I think half of it is that Sarah really doesn't seem to care whether she does their pathetic shows or not. That has to drive them bonkers!
I would never kid about a bona fide Nutter. :-)
I would only care about the Sunday shows if I could watch Sarah field dress Andrea Mitchell.
Whether basketball or beauty pageant, women are just down right nasty to each other.
The good governor will be ready for whatever is thrown at her. Count on it.
Roundtable: Obama Economic Policy
C-SPAN
Today at 3:53 PM ET. 31 minutes
should be starting soon
Just imagine applying for the job of potus and the first thing you write on your application is: 1. Community organizer After the laughing starts who in their right mind except an incredibly biased media or a corless political party would take this guy serious. It's still a mystery to me how he got so far. Great post.
I’ve read the pros and cons of Gov Palin appearing on a talk show and also heard Rick Davis on FNS today. I agree she should wait a little while, but also totally agree she can handle herself and go on a few here and there.
In case any of you missed this - here she goes again :-)
Today our opponent brought up earmarks and frankly I was surprised that he raised the subject. I didnt think hed want to go there, she said. Our opponent has requested nearly one billion dollars in earmarks in just three years about a million dollars for every working day. Just wait until President John McCain puts a stop to that.
