The great concern she no doubt has is that her viewers are largely suburban middle-aged moms, the exact group of people who would identify with Sarah Palin. Last election cycle Kerry won the woman vote by 7%. If we pull even, or ahead, in the woman vote, we win in a landslide.
I have a sure fire way she can get her daytime audience back. Opening the closet door and.......

Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods learned this lesson long ago. They stay out of politics because, as Michael said, “Republicans buy my shoes too”. When you are a transcendent figure like Oprah, Tiger, or Michael Jordan, your appeal is to far more than just Democrats or Republicans. Oprah picked a side in a political campaign and alienated a large chunk of her audience. Dumb move.

McCain should buy up an hour of airtime for Palin on ABC and invite Oprah to be Gov. Palin’s guest, instead. Seriously. ...............................GREAT IDEA! Palin can handle it easy, so easy that Oprah would be a No Show.
Why is this acceptable? They can say who ca, and who cannot, play their music? If so, it’s lights out for freedoms in America.

What a joke she is.
I agree she, is a joke.
But most of her viewers are dumb. She is smart enough to understand that if her viewers see and hear Palin, McCain/Palin will win votes.
One thing Oprah isn't -stupid.
This was supposed to be such a (Barracuda/basketball reference) slam dunk for Oprah. Over the years, Oprah has chosen for America, our diets; our self-helpers (Dr. Phil—the Obama of psychology circles); our authors; and New Age Cults and even our ‘Best Things Ever.’ It was a natural segway, using her ‘finger on the pulse’ of America’s bored and unemployed (ie, her viewers) to ascertain what ‘we’ needed in politics. And there, in the Loop in Chicago was the Messiah...the Chosen One chosen by the one who has chosen for us so many times before...but now instead of having to depend on her Oprah Show demographic (bored, easily influenced chronic TVaholics who are home during the day) she had to appeal her Messiah to an audience that would have never bought the book, a Million Little Peices; could care less about 500 count Egyptian cotton sheets; and couldn’t pick Nora Ephron out of a police line up. Oprah over estimated her appeal...the result...what has been going for the last 18 months Obama, not for President, but Savior.
And Sarah EARNED her “life ever after” ON HER OWN with her OWN money - unlike Clinton, or Helen-Gurley Brown, or Michelle Obama, or Heinz, or the hundreds of other quotable NOW types.
These hate-filled liberal women aborted their lives (perhaps literally) as THEY sacrificed everything to the gods of CNN and liberal Washington and the dean's office to try to get what Sarah already has.

Oprah isn't stupid, she understands this & that is why she (Oprah) is so scared of her.
I believe if Oprah snubs Sarah, she’ll get some backlash. Oprah’s audience is not just liberal professionals...she has a lot of viewers who are like Sarah—moms who work and are excited a “regular gal” is on the ticket.
Oprah already made some of them uncomfortable with her adulation of B. Hussein Obama. If word gets out she is dissing the splendid Mrs. Palin, it won’t set well. IMO.
Absolutely agreed that envy of earned rewards is a BIG factor in neoliberal angst.
