Pres candidate remains above the fray to peal away the Independents and look Presidential.
That is exactly why Obama received a lukewarm response to his speech. Peeps don’t want a guttersnipe in the WH.

Actually, no, I’m not. My first presidential election when I was old enough to vote was Ford/Carter, and as for only posting out here for a few months, I’ve been reading this website since 1992 elections.

That wouldn’t bother me so much except for the fact that we’ve already EXPERIENCED his type of ‘reaching’. In this particular case it’s simple: “His actions are speaking so loud I can’t hear what he’s saying.” I also remember a time when Presidential candidates didn’t do this. I think Bush #1 was the one who came up with this strategy. I don’t care for it and I don’t like it.
