Sen. McCain just gave an excellent speech that changed the terms of the debate for the remainder of this election. This campaign is no longer about youth vs. wisdom or even change vs. experience, this election is now about pretense vs. authenticity. And John McCain is real as it gets.

this election is now about pretense vs. authenticity Exactly right. As much as I have had huge disagreements with him, McCain came through as a strong, sincere character with substance. His first act of leadership as the new party leader was to pick Sarah Palin, and I don't think that was just a strategic choice. Obama has been thoroughly shamed by the contrast.
