GLOVES OFF
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney may be putting on a brave face for the cameras after losing out to Gov. Sarah Palin for the veepship, but his ever-loyal cadre of aides and consultants and conservative media types continue to work for him.
Almost every critical remark made about Palin on a recent briefing call about her selection came from political consultants with ties to Romney. Those comments were planted, says one, because they knew that reporters would be on the call.
BTW, in addition to not knowing whether the report is true or not, the report says NOTHING about the attacks on Palin;’s family and daughter.
It says that some people were critical of the Palin selection.
There’s nothing wrong with being critical of the Palin selection. There are things that can be said against it — she isn’t very experienced, she has no national media exposure so there is a risk, she is very young.
There would be no real issue with people pointing out these obvious negatives — I see them clearly even though I am happy with the Palin selection.
When I supported Romney, I said things against his candidacy. There were negatives, and they had to be dealt with.
But a discussion of people questioning the pick of a candidate last week really doesn’t belong in a thread about something completely different.
