Here is my similar story. My wife is very liberal. I am a conservative political junkie. On Friday evening I ask my wife if she had heard about McCain’s VP choice. She had not. I went on to tell her he had picked the Governor of Alaska. She had no clue who that was. I then went on to describe the governor’s credentials; 44years old, pro-life, pro-second ammendment, fiscally conservative, 5 kids with the 6 month old a downs syndromn child she chose not to abort. Never did I let on that the Governor was female. This went on for about 5 minutes. While my wife was quickly losing interest, I dropped the bomb, I told my wife that “SHE” has been in office for only 2 years.
Well you could not believe the change in my wife’s attitude. It was like I had flipped a switch. She immediately went to the TV to get the latest news on her. She was visibly excited and stunned. She kept commenting what a brilliant choice this was by McCain.
This has now forced quite the connundrum upon her. I know she was going to vote for Obama, but now she is definitely looking at voting for McCain. If that becomes the case, it will be the first time since I have known her that she will have voted for a republican president.
This is by far been the best presidential race in my lifetime.
I’ll trump all of you for feel-good stories about the Palin pick.
On Friday evening, I was out with some friends from work. There was a doctor with us who is an African-American female. SHE was totally excited about the Palin pick and was talking about how she’s thinking about voting for McCain because of it. I was shocked!
