This is a good question SH.

I think he is STILL working and again, you are right again...that factoid alone kinda sits out there real obvious like.

First, why is this Monegin character so defending this very bad, very, very bad State Trooper that any one of us would be banging the doors to get fired? There are a whole slew of citizen reports on this guy including another one I didn’t mention. Two citizens reported that he stopped by their house in his police car, came in and helped himself to a beer from their refrigerator. He drank down one, took another from the fridge and left with the beer and drove off in the POLICE CAR!

If the drive-by’s really want to “investigate” this thing then they should get this lying Monegin and ask him just why he quit his job to protect this fine, fine Wooten cop fellow.

This alone will make bad press.

JMHO, Fish, the only people who are going to mention this entire event are the Kos/DU axis of evil.

The MSM (aka Democrat Propaganda Ministry) has already seen all that information and probably some stuff that they shouldn’t have accessed, considered their options and decided that running with that story simply isn’t worth the heat that they’d take from all quarters. There are just too many people OF ALL POLITICAL PERSUASIONS who have accessed the same facts that you’ve dug up, who would take one look at a mass MSM feeding frenzy on that subject and throw it right back at ‘em.

The blowback from that deal could make RatherGate look like a Sunday School Picnic.

And if some of these big-time media outlets lose any more circulation or ratings, all those high-priced talking heads are going to be out selling used cars and their political buddies can go back to chasing ambulances or being neighborhood activists.

Further background:

Excerpt:

Before she was governor, Palin pushed for a trooper investigation of Wooten over a number of matters, including using a Taser on his stepson, illegally shooting a moose, and accusations of driving drunk. At one point, Palin and her husband hired a private investigator.

Troopers did investigate, and Wooten was suspended for 10 days, later reduced to five. That took care of it, Monegan said. But the Palin administration and Todd Palin wouldn’t let go, he said.

Palin initially said that, after she took office in December 2006, she broached the subject of Wooten with Monegan just once, when they discussed her security detail. She said that she told Monegan that Wooten “had threatened to kill my dad and bring me down.” She said she thought that was the end of it.
