... Sarah, 44, had her water unexpectedly break (just a slow leak of amniotic fluid, she shared) while attending an energy conference in Texas, but checked in with her doctor, was able to stay, deliver a 30 minute speech, and then get on a plane to return to her home state in time for the delivery (which ended up needing to be induced) early this morning.
I am not a glutton for pain and punishment. I would have never wanted to travel had I been fully engaged in labor. After four kids I knew what labor felt like, and I wasn't in labor.
Sarah said that while she did not tell the pilot or flight attendants that she was 36 weeks along, she did not hide her condition either
The family initially released a statement saying that Trig has "special challenges," but did not specify what they are. However, on Monday, April 21st, they said the baby has Down Syndrome. Sarah and Todd's statement reads,
Trig is beautiful and already adored by us. We knew through early testing he would face special challenges, and we feel privileged that God would entrust us with this gift and allow us unspeakable joy as he entered our lives. We have faith that every baby is created for good purpose and has potential to make this world a better place. We are truly blessed.
From wikipedia - Palin’s husband, Todd Palin, worked for the energy corporation British Petroleum at an oil field on Alaska’s North Slope and works as a fisherman in his hometown in the summers. Todd is a world champion snowmobiler, winning the 2,000-mile (3,200 km) “Iron Dog” race four times. Todd is one-eighth Yup’ik.
HA...you’re talking to the choir....I have a feeling Biden is in for a BIG surprise.....
“How and the hell do you respond to such evil?”
Not with words to the Evil ones but with fervent prayer to God.
Awesome comment!!!!
I echo your feeling.
I spent over 20 years in Delaware politics, and my husband grew up in Delaware, we've been talking about this all day. Biden isn't going to know what hit him.
I didn't like Biden when I first met him as a 22 year old new kid in town reporter, and nearly 26 years later I still don't like him.
Children, even infants, have an uncanny knack about people. My now 10 year old daughter started seriously fussing when Biden stopped to speak to us a few days after the 1998 election. Yet she had willingly reached out to grab Sen. Bill Roth not long before that. She was 4 months old at the time.
She almost gave birth to a Texan. :) Poor kid will have to just settle for being the son of the next Vice President of the United States. :)
you should read the Kos bigots having a fit because she goes to a Christian church....
I know how he feels.I still “choke up” when I think of when I watched my wife go through 19 hours of labor with our son:)
I was a “forceps” newborn myself.Back in the 50s,it was not uncommon to “knock” a woman out and then “extract” the baby.No muss,no fuss,no deranged anger directed at the father.
Then we discovered the wonders of “natural childbirth” that not only provided the parents with the “sacred glory” of experiencing the full extent of the “miracle of birth” but also saved the health insurance companies some major moolah.
What’s a little agony for such noble causes?
God bless you and your wife. From the time my water broke until he cut the cord was about 45 minutes.
I had no intentions of being any kind of “hero” and was all for the drugs, but they weren’t ordered in time, so it was what it was.
I don’t choose to do it again, but I wouldn’t change that experience for anything.
I wasn’t a “forceps” baby, but I was a “by appointment” birth. That was 1960, and in ‘62 they were still doing it when my brother came along. When my mother woke up, there I was all nice and pretty and clean————but without a name. 3 days later she had to come up with one because the hospital was not letting me go without one.......
Fathers never really have it as bad as mothers, but I’m not sure which ones have/had it worse, those that are with us, or those who used to pace the halls.
It stands to reason why the mother is universally and historically held in the highest regard by all cultures.Even the mother of Jesus is exalted as much for her deed as for her offspring.
Men have always ruled but they can never compete with this ulimate act for the survival of the species—and they know it.
That’s why my greatest respect is for women who go the distance no matter what.
“Yep...she knew how risky it was to get pregnant in your 40s. I know that, too...which is why I have not.”
God bless you. As to your posting, well, that’s a very personal choice. And maybe it wasn’t even planned, but something that just happened.
It is. Just as we are allowed to tell you your opinion is worth less than yesterday's news.
“It is absolutely disgusting. How and the hell do you respond to such evil?”
It depends on your style - but I say ignore it (with a very disdainful, contemptuous air).
Okay, I’d probably be vocal about it as well :-))))))
You’re a good man, and I mean that sincerely.
Men like you are why women like Sarah Palin are able to go so far.
I don’t mean that to sound sexist, but what I’m trying to say is that there are far too many men who are all for women in the workforce, until the woman reaches a level beyond the man. Then all of a sudden the mantra changes back to “she should be home with her children where she belongs.”
“Then all the talk about him being a fisherman is smoke.”
how do you figure? can’t guys multi-task???
“They seem like a lovely family and seeing them all together”
Agreed. So I guess the real-life question will be - can “Mr. (or Ms.) Smith” go to Washington??? I pray so, for the good of our country.
Thank you.
Christian and conservative forums appear to be the only places left these days to encounter non-men women or,in other words, women.
The superior sex in what really matters.
