Alaska=Anwar(sp?)= energy= Palin. Hope so.

Plus, she would be a true "outside Washington" type. Not to mention the Dems can't really say much about experience. She's a woman. Being from Alaska is just cool- not just cold :-)

It would be a brilliant move. I just don't want to get my hopes up.

“It is McCain, you never know with Maverick:)”

Well, there you’ve got a point, LOL! With McCain anything is possible.

It would be wonderful to see the ‘Rats and the MSM start trying to make the case that 2 years’ exec. experience as Gov. of Alaska (plus several years as a Mayor) is inadequate but that the complete lack of ANY exec. experience for Obambi + Biden is OK. Plus, Obambi has done absolutely nothing in his life except write egotistical memoirs, run for office, and accomplish zero on the legislative front.

I would love to see McCain pick Palin — she would be a terrific VP and we would get the bonus of seeing the Rat-weasels and the MSM squirm and whine and desperately attempt to disparage her without alienating millions of voters.

Then Gov. Palin could castrate Biden in the VP debate with a smile.....

Most important, of course, is the question of governance and I think she would be a terrific VP for McCain.

she has a corruption investigation on her (per FR). Granted a slap style investigation but it seems that would be dangerous baggage.

Hi Everyone -
This is my first time here. I am from Anchorage and the chatter about our Gov possibly being named VP nominee today has me up all night!! I think the McCain aide who just said they are picking someone who will reform washington and help with energy certainly points to Palin. She went against the Republican “good old boys” here in Alaska and reformed the party here, and who better to help with energy than the woman who leads one of the mosyt evergy rich areas of the world?

As the govenor of Alaska, wouldn’t she be flying in from the capital city, Juneau, rather than Anchorage?

I would think she would leave from Anchorage. It is the largest airport in the state, where most outbound flights originate from. Also, the Gov spends a lot of time in Anchorage and could have easily been here.

That “investigation” sounds like total b.s. and it might be very useful to shine a spotlight on how the dishonest, vicious Demagogues operate, from Liefong in NC, to Ronnie Earle in TX to Spitzfong in NY, to what’s being attempted against Gov. Palin.

Granted, McCain is not likely to go on the offensive about it but there could be ample opportunity for the blogosphere to take on that issue.

So long as she is not in any real danger of having something bad come out before Nov. (from what I’ve read there is nothing at all to this), there could be some real blowback for the vicious Rat-weasels.

Granted, there’s always the danger that it will just muddy the waters too much.....

Any woman with five children has more executive experience than Barack Obama.

Politically, she’s got 2 years as Gov of Alaska, and that’s just about it.

That's 2 more years executive experience than Obama has....

Just heard on Fox that McCain's camp said it's someone who'll "reform Washington, something about energy, and lower taxes". "Reform Washington" kinda says Palin to me, but, maybe it's wishful thinking?

Pre-gubernatorial political experience

Palin served two terms on the Wasilla, Alaska City Council from 1992 to 1996. In 1996, she challenged the incumbent mayor, criticizing wasteful spending and high taxes.[3] The ex-mayor and sheriff tried to organize a recall campaign, but failed.[3] Palin kept her campaign promises, reducing her own salary, as well as reducing property taxes 60%.[3] She ran for reelection against the former mayor in 1999, winning by an even larger margin.[3][14] Palin was also elected president of the Alaska Conference of Mayors.[11]

In 2002, Palin made an unsuccessful bid for Lieutenant Governor, coming in second to Loren Leman in a four-way race. After Frank Murkowski became governor (resigning his long-held U.S. Senate seat in mid-term), Palin interviewed to be his possible successor, but Murkowski appointed his daughter, then-Alaska State Representative Lisa Murkowski.[3]

Then-Governor Murkowski appointed Palin Ethics Commissioner of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission[15], where she served from 2003 to 2004 -- until resigning in protest over what she called the "lack of ethics" of fellow Alaskan Republican leaders, who ignored her whistleblowing complaints of legal violations and conflicts of interest.[3] After she resigned, she exposed the state Republican party's chairman, Randy Ruedrich, one of her fellow Oil & Gas commissioners (who was accused of doing work for the party on public time, and supplying a lobbyist with a sensitive e-mail).[16] Palin filed formal complaints against both Ruedrich and former Alaska Attorney General Gregg Renkes, who both resigned; Ruedrich paid a record $12,000 fine.[3]

"Any woman with five children has more executive experience than Barack Obama."

So true!! My dear mom raised 5 of us and she'd definitely be better for the country than Obambi or Biden!!!! She is 80, though, so she might not help McCain too much with the "age factor"

I would not rule out Palin because of the contenders she is the one NOT confirmed to be in Ohio.

The locatin of the other contenders is known and could be a decoy for the DBM.
