It was so intense- it wasn’t til we turned into the 80’s that I began to think...ok..we’re America again.
Unfortunately, I DO remember, even though I was a kid.
Very late 1960s I was a highschool freshman and having been skipped a grade I was a year younger than everyone. That was bad enough. But there was one particular radical fellow student and she had all the Standard Lines Of Bull (SLOB) down. One day she was spouting all the talking points and said she wanted to join the Weathermen while she called Nixon a fascist. I remember thinking, she has no clue what a fascist IS.
She’s probably in Denver today burning a flag. She was very scarey to me even back then.
