Let's start a comment and update page as we get more and more info coming in. We now know Hutchison is not the choice. She confirmed she was not the pick with Neil Cavuto about 45 minutes ago.
Fox News has also confirmed that all potential selections will be in Dayton tomorrow. And has confirmed that both Pawlenty and Romney cancelled appearances on their schedules.
Comments anyone???? Predictions???
Okay all, Alan Colmes JUST SAID TWO MINUTES AGO that Fox HAS NOT CONFIRMED WHO McCain’s VP pick is!
If I were gaming this, I’d say Steve Schmidt and Pawlenty may be pulling a towering head fake on the Bambi rapid reaction team. They have one set up in Denver to react to the news that Pawlenty’s the One.
Look for a “fake” bumper sticker to come out close to midnight. Anything to get the Bambi’s to go for the bait.
I’m looking for a huge, out-of-the-park pick by JMC. He has to pull the news right off of the Young Jesus and his Personality Cult.
Best,
Chris
InTrade Pawlenty down to about 70% Romney at 10%. Someone else may be getting into the mix.
Palin would be a homerun, Romney would be a stand-up triple
Has anyone heard if S. Palin has plane reservations for the Lower 48 tomorrow?
“If McCain does not pick Flip do you imagine his sycophants on FR will throw themselves a pity party?”
Yep. Here’s how it will read...
Quit Picking on Mitt!!! [Closed Caucus Thread]
“...a surprise Condi pick ...”
Hope not. One of the talking heads was interviewing Condi last weekend and she wouldn’t say who she’s voting for, and wouldn’t endorse anyone. I’d hope McCain would choose someone who isn’t ashamed to say she’s going to vote for him. (Anyhow, isn’t she pro-abortion?)
“She’s older than Obama and running for a lower office.”
Yup. AND she’s actually accomplished something in her life. Obama’s “success” as a thug organizer in Chicago is a dubious accomplishment.
I would love to see Palin as the Veep pick as well. She is not among any of the mentions... which could be a good thing for those of us who would like to see her selected. Should we expect the unexpected?
Well said!! I will say this, however... Palin may not have a lot of experience, but she is 100 times more ready for the White House than the teleprompter-reading empty suit!
Well here we go again - another report from “Drew” (supposed inside source to RNC & McCain Campaign) -
“Just after Barack Obama announced his party’s nomination for president of the United States, I have this CONFIRMED from a source within the McCain campaign.
Neither Former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge nor Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty are John McCain’s pick for vice president nominee.
This is confirmed by a source within the McCain campaign. I have been told I will not receive any further information on the decision by John McCain until after 11 p.m. ET.”
Suspense is killing me here.
Drew has left a new comment on the post “Online Victory Party!”:
I can confirm McCain has met with Palin on multiple occasions, including a meeting very recently. Although, that does not confirm anything. At least one of those meetings was to discuss “energy policy”.
I cannot explain why Palin hasn’t been covered more by the media. You have to take into account the McCain campaign has been extremely good on keeping this a private search, even more closely guarded than Obama’s VP search. I have been told, as well as hearing from other outlets that McCain made his choice on instinct and deep thinking about where he wants to take the country. He has not talked about who he took into account during this search, and he has played it very close to the chest here, thus, the media has to speculate on who he will choose, hence the disorganized coverage by the media.
If Drew is legit sure looks like Pawlenty sirens on Red State and so forth were smokescreens and Palin is the pick.
I hope so - I think that would be a McCain landslide - Boy am I PUMPED!
