The first shot from the McCain campaign is an effort to embarrass Biden, and Obama, with a couple of things the new Democratic running mate has said. During the primaries last year, when Biden was still running for the nomination, he questioned Obama's readiness for the job. And back in 2005, Biden said he'd be honored to run "with or against" McCain.
The Democratic effort to blunt that: McCain 2005 isn't the same guy he is now.

Looks like a rag tag group of mercenaries marching around in circles waiting for a real leader to appear.
That's even better. Demonstrates that McCain's peaople are planning for a number of contingencies. I believe McCain is going to keep Obama on his heels the rest of the way, forcing Obama to react to McCain's message and ads rather than being proactive.
The more Obama has to respond, the more McCain's message gets out, thereby multiplying the investment in McCain's ads. The media will have to play McCain's ads for free in order to put Obama's reaction into context.
I’m really enjoying the persistence and speed of the McCain team these days - lightening fast responses, very well targeted for the most part. They are doing a “Carpe Diem” play better than most. I’m starting to feel very optimistic about November...
The ad is great.
Would have been better if McCain had thanked Biden for his endorsement at the end.
BTW, this coming week will be the "high-water" mark of the Obama campaign. Starting a week from now, McCain should have all the momentum back.
Actually, he's still the same "maverick".
I saw McCain's new "maverick" add and it made me mad. He has got to stop infuriating those right side voters he is taking for granted.
“Finally, the McCain Campaign on the balls of its feet.”
The McCain camp has been incredible lately. The One, Housing Problem, and now this. Whoever McCain’s ad guy is, he’s FAST, and he hits the most devestating spot he can find.
Yeah, almost like they had it ready to roll out before the "announcement" made it official. I love to watch professionals at work...

Bush Senior's "Voodoo Economics" slam didn't faze R. Reagan much. The facts are that the obama camp has been "cherry picking" McCain comments out of context and stringing them together to create the impression that he said something which was never said. I believe that everyone (except the willfully ignorant) knows that comments made while on the stump are often hyperbole and should not be taken as absolute truth.

I hope to see the new ad!!
