I thought Bayh would be a good pick, McCaskill even better. But Webb would have been a great pick. He was Reagan’s Navy Sec, and he and McCain would go toe to toe. The MSM would eat it up, and he would get enough votes in VA, MO, AR and places like that to put him over the top.
Webb declined the offer early on. I don’t think he wants to play second fiddle to Obama.
Could be that no one wanted to be Barry’s partner.
Maybe Biden was the fatted calf.
