If McCain didn’t want to win he wouldn’t have been running the ads he’s been running. He’s in it for real.

McCain does not need your vote and the votes of unappeasable purists like you. He is going to win big and you are going to be angrier and more irrelevant but you can create your own delusional world and feel all powerful and victorious. (Deserves repeating - I may 'cache' it for use every time one of these nose-in-the-air "purists" - and some, I suspect, DU moles - spout off.

In order to win, his best bet was a redneck with military credentials and centrist social leanings. Jim Webb, Weasley Clark, that kind of guy. Instead he picked someone even more arrogant and elitist than he is, and liberal, and from the northeast.Exactly. I thought he would go with Jim Webb. Biden? I'm perplexed. This is GREAT for McCain...

"Hillary was the smartest pick." To top it off, Obambi pulled it off just about as clumsily as he did with his "sophisticated" texting fiasco.
He knows he has to win over her supporters so what does he do? He angers her supporters even more by not extending the courtesy, or at least appearance, that she was ever considered for the VP spot. Same thing with snubbing Bubba on that dinner. Shows that he's not going to acknowledge the Clintons as anything more than an enemy for control of the party.
This convention is going to be insane!

I think even George Clooney would be smart enough to say this was a bad idea. Maybe Obama forgot to ask him.

Chuck Todd on the Biden pick.......
Republicans will be "disappointed" and 'rats will be "relieved".
He must be up way past his bed time.

anyone think that the lawsuit challenging obama would be successful, and then hill will save the day?
To: pillut48
But CNN keeps telling me that Hillary supporters are happy because if it wasn’t going to be her then Biden was their #1 pick. Of course, they didn’t finish by saying he was their #1 because they want Barry to lose.

I thought Bayh would be a good pick, McCaskill even better. But Webb would have been a great pick. He was Reagan’s Navy Sec, and he and McCain would go toe to toe. The MSM would eat it up, and he would get enough votes in VA, MO, AR and places like that to put him over the top.

Man, Democrats cant keep anything secret can they? I bet Biden leaked it.

Somewhere tonight Hillary Clinton is not very happy.
Unless she is offered the position of Secretary of State.
I thought it would be Sebelius, but I see he has gone with the typical white male.
True, it's a liberal affirmative action pick, but not that much!
Clinton or Sebelius would alienate too many of the voters that the Obama campaign hopes to hornswoggle into believing that the Democrat party cares one whit about them. It is in part due to this perception that white voters who would otherwise pull the lever for a Democrat are expressing hesitancy, perhaps because of the so-called race issue, i.e., let's sucker these backward white folks into voting for us.
Best to go with an old white-haired dude, to paraphrase that witty starlet, Paris Hilton. ;)

Webb declined the offer early on. I don’t think he wants to play second fiddle to Obama.
