If they could have kept it under the radar they might have gotten away with it, but once it became widely known they had to back down.
Going to be interesting to look into who had this bright idea in the first place -- or who ordered the attempted sealing of the records. My bet is a lawyer from the foundation called the school and claimed this nonsense about the formal "deed of gift".
