You forget that Stanley Kurtz has a research finding aid from the UIC library that houses the papers. I think that means that if anything is missing he will know it immediately...right? I question the news item appearing late on Friday. Usually it means that bad news is being downplayed or allowed to be diluted over a long weekend. They are hoping that it will be ignored by all the Veep hoopla, I’ll bet! By the way, the library is probably not open on Monday, hence the Tuesday release. I could also be entirely wrong.

Archical finds aids do not typically list the exact number of pages in the collection. Depending on the level of description, it may not be useful in determing if items have been deleted. There is more to this (from an archivist’s point of view) and it is highly unethical. I don’t want to get into the details, but the archivist should be fired.
