Wow! That is a really huge big deal. That would be just enough to tip the majority in the Senate over to the Republican party.
Yes, but the Dems would still be in control. The operations, including leadership, of the Senate are put in place at the start of the Congressional session. They don't become null/void if the majority changes, only if there is a vote to change them. And should Lieberman flip sides, the GOP won't have the supermajority necessary to change them. Dingy stays Majority Leader and continues running the show.
