Norway's Defense Ministry says Russia has informed it that it plans to cut all military ties with NATO.

To me, the biggest issue here is that while the rest of the world has moved into a post-Soviet world, and we in the military have adapted our strategy and tactics to small wars and counterinsurgency, the Russians are using the big hammer just like in the old days - and guess what? It still works! So much for all the new War College “next-war” eggheads...

I just don’t understand all the boasting and Russian mindset. And I was married to one (not mail order bride, she came to the US at 16) and traveled to Russia and Moscow.
I stood in Red Square and flipped Lenin the bird. Have a pic of it somewhere.

Fox Oscar, Russkies. I like our chances. I agree. I'll break out my old uniforms and get a haircut if required, and if Services Flight needs help.

Why was the North American Treaty Organization (NATO) bastardized in the first place? Those countries not in North America do not belong. This is just more of the US not minding our own business. The "A" in NATO stands for "Atlantic".

I fail to see how the calculation has changed much especially with a resurgent Russia. This "calculation" was made by the Europeans and was not to benefit the U.S.
Benefiting the U.S. should be the primary reason for any foreign policy.

They are simply going with the projected winner. We have been hearing for years that Red China is the next #1 superpower. They own us right now. They own our biggest ports, the Panama Canal, our former naval base in the Philippines, the oil rich Spratley islands, on and on. They can reach our West Coast by ICBMs or whatever they are called now. Our pols do private business with them, ex: Diane Feinstein’s husband has been in bed with them for years. Some of our elementary schools are teaching Cantonese. Surprise - the MSM completely ignores all of this.

I don’t think NATO should have ties to Axis powers anyway.

I think this is a good thing. The only thing that cooperation was good for was to let them know how to defeat us.

Had we taken them out after Germany during WWII, all this would have been avoided, but a some point, in perhaps the near future, we will need to take care of long delayed business.

So correct. Gen. Patton wanted to keep marching into the USSR and get rid of the “commie bastards”. He should have been Commanding General of the ETO.

Have you started back to school, yet? Perhaps in your freshman year they’ll explain NATO in history class.
