Share your thoughts about the Saddleback Civil Forum, which starts at 8:00pm EST..
Will Warren throw softballs on the issue of abortion?
Will he give both candidates free passes?
Will this be an attempt to minimize the lives of the unborn while giving higher priority of less urgent social issues?

I was yelling at my wife when he made the Clarence Thomas remark! He knows that he is in big trouble with 99.9% of all black voters going for him and uhhh... hmmm...somewhat less of the white voters.I don't think he fooled too many with that selection.

I would consider that just a run of bad luck. Try smaller churches.

That's her brother? I didn't know.
Yeah its hard to say who makes me sicker. He is so obvious, and reveals himself for what he is. She is so sugary and phony, coming accross as such a wonderully nice person, while fighting passionately for the right to kill babies.

On C-Span, a female caller was indignant, calling the entire affair "repugnant," because, in her estimation, the Constitution requires that there be no "religious test," and this event was held in a church and moderated by a minister and that, in her opinion, that is not just inappropriate, it is wrong.
Guess she never read the writings of Thomas Jefferson who wrote that "In our village of Charlottesville, there is a great deal of religion, with a small spice only of fanaticism. We have four sects, but without either church or meetinghouse, the courthouse is the common temple, one Sunday in the month for each. Here Episcopalian and Presbyterian, Methodist and Baptist meet together, join in hymning their maker, listen with attention and devotion to each other's preachers, and all mix in society with perfect harmony. . . ."
Of course, the liberals of today know little of the Founders' philosophy of religious liberty and care less.

Yeah, I know. The hit didn’t look good but time will tell. Royal is going to be a phenom I think. He looked great.

” but I feel FOX has to be careful not to offend Obama “
The panel must have watched a rerun of the Berlin speech.
Or else they afraid of hurting Barry’s feelings by criticizing him.
Which reinforces how frail and weak the guy is.
McCain so clearly dominated this event that it defies logic to say Obama was even in the same ballpark.
He didn’t get out of the parking lot.
Candy Crowley said that Obama openly talked about his “ childhood “ indiscretions.
She equated pot and crack with making prank phone calls.
The pundits, even at FOX, are so in the tank for Obama they should appear on camera with snorkels and masks.

McCain has been saving it up for these last weeks of the campaign gleefully watching as "The One" got more and more over-exposed.
A surge of enthusiasm is coming. I predict McCain will do far better than most have suspected.

Me thinks...
about the duel at Saddleback is that John came across as the old vet who knew what was what and nObama came across as if he thought this was the Brokeback Mountain Church.

McCain has been saving it up for these last weeks of the campaign I think it's more like we finally got to SEE McCain -
He does this night after night in townhall meetings across the country - but the media plays coverage of the anointed one 3 times over McCain.
the media shills have got to be steaming tonight. No one could not recognize that McCain smoked the Polished, Programmed Puppet.

>>So am I the only one who came out of this thinking Obama comes off as a smart, genuine, thoughtful guy?
On a non-socialist internet forum such as FR, probably so.
I found him to be disgusting. Without the fearsome power of the state behind him, Obama would be like a retired stud horse.
