I think the idea of U.S. control of the air and seaports in an excellent idea. It’s time for a strong and visible humanitarian U.S. military response. The EU has in a few days proven again how useless they are.
The U.S. didn’t take control. It was the Georgian President jumping the gun and announcing it to the world as if it was fact. It was not the case. The U.S. was quick to announce that the Georgian President’s assumptions were incorrect.
“We are not looking to, nor do we need to, take control of any air or sea ports to conduct this mission,” Pentagon press secretary Geoff Morrell said.
