I guess it's hard to be green in that weather.

I disagree. By using air conditioning in the open air environment you are actually cooling off global warming. It’s the people keeping the cool indoors that are the problem.

Wouldn’t want their make-up to run.

The hypocrites at NBC want to be comfortable outdoors but they scold us for leaving our thermostats turn up to high at home for the same reason!

Wasn’t it NBC who had a “green day” or “green week” earlier this year, where they actually turned down the lights on the live set and had their talking heads pontificating in the dark? And weren’t they encouraging their audience to dim the lives in their own living rooms, so everyone could get “green” together?

Not really a surprise ... the parent company of NBC - General Electric - is headed up by a green CEO who is pushing 23 joint ventures with Chinese firms so what’s a little more pollution to make the talking heads comfortable?

Running AC with the doors open? I bet they keep the lights on when nobody is outdoors, too.

Letterman jokes about keeping the place cold, but those lights generate a lot of heat. I took the NBC tour in 1991 about noon and the Today show set was still about 75 degrees at noon. It runs at 45-50 when there is no one there. If they didn’t run the AC, the people would be fainting on screen.

Maybe they purchased carbon credits for their increased carbon output?
