I think that we are in accord on probably most things.
When it comes to Senator John McCain’s Presidential aspirations and our options as voters in November, we seem to diverge on what we believe/feel is best for the Nation.
I ain’t voting for that guy, I ain’t alone, and let the chips lay where they fall.
We shall see what happens.
No offense intended.
I don't see the point in voting for a liberal, regardless of what letter comes after his or her name. And, frankly, I would be ashamed to call myself a conservative if I willingly and knowingly voted for a liberal. Furthermore, I would have to admit that I am an idiot, to vote for someone who repeatedly spits in our collective face and sides with our opponents.
In which state will you be voting?
The same state in which I live...Virginia.
Call me narrow-minded but McCain is
anti-abortion,
anti-same sex marriage and
anti-Congressional earmarks for porkbarrell projects.
Those three things are enough for me to vote for him and to vote against the narcissistic, arrogant, Marxist, big-eared, closet-Muslim, little punk, bi-sexual, crack-smoking B. Hussein Obama.
I agree with you. I think anybody who helps Obama by not voting for McCain should be ashamed to call themself a conservative.
That worries me as well. There is actually one area wherein Obama has some experience: street organization ala ACORN. These groups are notorious for perpetrating vote fraud in their "GOTV" efforts. With street-level organizing and Soros money I wouldn't put it past the dems to turn many states into Florida 2000. Is there already a plan in place to "go nuclear" if it looks like Obama is going to lose? The possibility should frighten the bejeezus out of anyone who cares about our country.
Can you imagine the race-baiting that will go on? Saints preserve us. With enough organization and money, the dems could make the Florida recount look like a garden party.
No, you don't. You did, however, twist my words in order to attempt to paint me as something I'm not.
By voting for a candidate, I give my stamp of approval to their campaign proposals. And, frankly, if there is no way I can avoid voting for amnesty for illegals, carbon credits, and more government, then conservatism is dead, and so is the Republic.
The problem with McCain's gang of useful idiots is that they believe that a Republican must win, regardless of the Republican's actual political profile. Would you vote for Lincoln Chafee if he was the nominee? And what if Hillary Clinton was the Republican nominee? Furthermore, they also tend to ignore and even whitewash McCain's horrifically non-conservative record. And, if that doesn't work, they accuse us of being purists...or tell us that unless we vote for McCain, our children will suffer. They hold up the spectre of Obama because, the truth is that McCain has nothing going for him. He's as much a post turtle as Obama is. And, as a last resort, they then twist the rules of logic to accuse us of being closeted Obama supporters and DU/Kos trolls.
If you believe that Americans are too stupid, too insecure, and too dependent on their government, and that they are incapable of surviving without a Republican presidency, then, by all means, go ahead and continue the name-calling and accusations. It only shows how desperate and scared you and your fellow McCain supporters are, because, literally, McCain has nothing else. (And, don't even try to talk about his "experience" unless you want the topic of his "experience" as "the original maverick" to be fleshed out in detail.)
Really.

Ping to post 48.
I both agree and disagree vehemently with everything written so far on this thread. I can’t condemn or promote the argument of either side.
On the one hand you don’t want this Marxist in charge of your country and then on the other hand, if Conservatives show up and vote for McCain, will that be used as proof that a more moderate candidate is always the best fit for republicans?
I have no doubts that McCain will alienate us and throw us all under the bus in short order. He has never shown any desire to work with us, but on the contrary, against us.
I am lost somewhere in the ether and I think many of my fellow conservatives are lost with me. I find Obama repugnant, but I can see where in the long run McCain could be just as bad for Conservatives.
I think much of this will ride on who McCain selects as VP. The VP choice doesn’t usually matter a great deal but this election will be a bit different I think. The names being tossed about will not hack it. McCain will win this election by giving the conservative base hope for 2012. IF they feel they have no hope in 2012 then they may decide to go for broke and fight the battle in 2012, hanging the Maverick out to dry as he has us so may times.
May God grant you all the wisdom to make the right decision. I still haven’t a clue.
I do not want Obambi as our next president.
Therefore, I will vote for McCain.
We are not doomed.
GOOD catch!
If you feel that strongly that McCain would be worse for the nation, then you certainly must vote for Obambi, since that is the only way to stop McCain.
Pretending that refusing to vote for McCain makes you not culpable for helping Obambi get elected is what is supremely unhelpful.
But suit yourself.
Please don’t help throw VA to Obambi by refusing to vote for McCain.
Brilliant.
Frightening, but brilliant.
why?
