This is part of the ebb and flow of history, not Armageddon.

Well....I would agree with you, fighinJAG.

Except that Obama plans on having a Domestic Police Force in the same size and scope as our military...under the Homeland Security mantel.

FreeRepublic could be shut down as a hate site.

How soon after that will it be before Martial Law is invoked? How soon after that will be have our own rendition of "The Night of Broken Glass" the way German populations attacked Jewish businesses, etc..

Transpose Jews with Conservatives...and you have it. And don't tell me it can't happen.

You made a helpful clarification to my post.

I was speaking to the issue of voting for McCain. I conclude from history that candidates such as McCain emerge, particularly in the Republican party, when national security issues are at the fore, or some kind of mop-up of national security operations are needed (as with Eisenhower).

My comment was addressed to those who believe that voting for McCain, who is not as conservative as some would like, means WE ARE DOOMED.

I disagree with that.

All that said, once we turn our sights to the impact of Obambi and his party on our nation, should he win, well, yes, the picture definitely does get more gloomy.

I can’t say I see the doom in an Obambi presidency that you do, but I see enough that there is no way on God’s green earth that I will not be pulling the lever for McCain, if only to do my part to stop Obambi (and to add my anti-Obami, anti-Rat vote to the NATIONAL popular vote).
