“He might gamble that conservatives’ love of country (and desire to avoid the disaster that Obama would bring) would overrule their desire to make a political statement by staying home. I don’t know if he really understands the angst out here in conservative-land.”

And he’d probably win that gamble in most states, but all he has to do is lose the gamble in a swing state or two and he’s lost election. And that loss can come by pissing of a few thousand or a few tens of thousands here and there.

A stupid way to conduct a campaign.

On his Saturday morning show, Larry Kudlow was just puzzling over the fact that McCain’s sidekick Lindsay Graham is part of the Gang of 10 that is weakening the drill here, drill now campaign issue for Republicans.

More dumb stuff from the Republican side.

No. It's stupid to try to use the ballot box on Election Day as a protest tool. Protest and make political statements all you want, but there are other, more effective, less damaging venues for it.
