Hey....associating you as that poor sap in Deerhunter was not a personal attack. It was merely an observation. Sorry that you took it that way.

I very much enjoy reading your posts and respect your positions.

Just what group of voters do you think these middle-of-the-road Republicans are going to pick-up? And, don’t think some of the more conservative Republicans won’t sit out an election where the Republicans have become some mushy middle. Voters will be lost during a move toward the middle. Specifically what voters will be gained?

Taking into account that the American voting public historically get sick and tired of a political party after 8 years....

Taking into account that the MSM has helped foster a negative identity on anything Conservative...thereby tarnishing any GOP candidate.....

Taking into account that there is a candidate nominated by the RAT party that is a militant that HATES what our country is...is a Black Liberation Ideologue....is a MARXIST....

we are going to be able to garner millions of votes from good Democrats who still love our country first...before willing to turn it over to these radicals.

Hopefully...enough BLUE DOGS to counter and cancel out the conservatives who seem to have their noses firmly planted against the tree...and who no longer can see the forest.

“we are going to be able to garner millions of votes from good Democrats who still love our country first...before willing to turn it over to these radicals.”

I agree many of those will vote Republican this year, but there is still no reason to alienate the religious, pro-life voters who have been dependable Republicans voters since about 1972. And there is no guarantee that any Dems. or Independents who vote Republican this time won’t move back to a more moderate Dem. candidate, or back to Hillary who most probably voted for during the primaries.

You’re still dissing some conservatives without specifying which issues they have their “noses firmly planted against the tree” on. If you mean illegal aliens, about 70% of Republican voters want the laws to be enforced and no amnesty by any name. - If you want Republicans to just ignore that issue and let Lord McCain do what he thinks is best, then, yes, you and McCain are both elitists who think you know better than the peasants. No way to rebuild the party A good way to weaken it further.
