You know damn well from the news reports that the Marines were very fortunate - and although they WERE bombed, none were hurt. Your choice of language and demands of proof are laughable.

Don't make an assertation you cannot prove. Do I care if the Russians are following the laws of land warfare against Georgians. Not really. I have never expected the Soviets to fight nicely.

Do I care if the Marines get shot at. Semper Fi and abso-freakin-lutely. BUT I'm not seeing any reports that the Marines have been bombed.

If you were operating without your emotions, you'd know that at a minimum if they had been shot at, they would have returned fire, and I guarantee you that there would be dead russian planes all around them. Oh, AND we would have heard about it by now.

So put up or shut up on your assertation that our troops have been bombed.

1st of all, to understand this war, you need to have a firm understanding of how Soviet(and, yes, Georgian...former Soviets, right?) propaganda works. You can’t rely on given numbers of kill, downs, civi strikes, etc. That’s naive on an scale that would have Obama’s eyebrows lift. In addition, it is regrettable that innocents have died, I don’t consider it important, at least as a motivating factor for US/EU/Western support, though it may suit our(good guy) propaganda. It is not such an important point.

2nd-I read and reread the article you pointed to and no mention of marines being attacked in Georgia, let alone news of them in Georgia. Yes, I know they have had a presence for training as the Marine Forces Reserve pointed out http://www.mfr.usmc.mil/mfrnews/2008/2008.07/Georgia.asp

SkyPilot, I do not have proof about the Marines but there is proof that Russia is bombing civilians outside of South Ossetia. They were caught in the act by BBC.
