WASHINGTON, Aug 8 (Reuters) - The United States on Friday asserted its support for Georgia's territorial integrity and urged an immediate cease-fire in Georgia's rebel territory of South Ossetia, where Tbilisi tried to assert control and Russia sent in forces.

I agree. With what we did to Serbia regarding Kosovo, the Russians can claim genocide or some other BS as to why they support the rebels.
I wonder if this has any relation to the massive naval buildup I read about earlier headed to the middle east.

Jesus Christ. You are cutting and pasting the same tired response on every Russia-Georgia thread. No one is saying we ought to fight the damn Russians. But we can support the Georgians (One of our few allies in Iraq)in ways other than war. From this article, it looks like that has laready started.

The truth is worth repeating, and real conservatives are soon going to learn that the neo-con policy of extending American power through military might and dubious alliances was never conservative nor ever wise.
