This is serious people. Georgia’s military has mostly outdated Russian arms. The Russians know how to fight against their own arms. Unless the Georgians get new weaponry from the west, they will not be in very good shape in the next couple of days. These attacks came in such bad timing for Georgia, everyone’s attention is on the Olympics including most of the world leaders.

Last time I checked NATO IS the US. Who can we trust to help the Georgians? Most of Europe is part of NATO but they do not have half the capabilities of the US military. The closest neighbors to help Georgia are Ukraine and Turkey. Ukraine might play a big role in establishing peace to re-enforce their entrance into NATO and Turkey will not act alone as part of NATO.

Let us take some time to pray for cool heads to prevail. I remember hearing that when our aircraft carriers are offshore cooler heads prevail, but unless Turkey gives US warbirds permission to fly over it’s territory there is little physical help we can offer Georgia and Aircraft carriers are not allowed to cross the Sea of Marmara and the straights in Istanbul, only small carriers like the Kuznetsov can pass.

Turkey is the Wild-Card here...

How they respond, especially as a NATO member will decide what course the US takes.
