Here are numerous pictures from various online Russian and Georgian news outlest of the conflict in Georgia where Russia has now intevened on the ground and in the air and invaded Georgia over the Ossetian Seperatists.

I'm not the one advocating war. I'm advocating that we stay out of it.
What will prevent this from being a one-sided slaughter?
How's this? If Serbia is to let Kosovo go, then Georgia should do the same with South Ossetia. I have no illusions about the belligerence of the Russkies. But as the saying goes, "Pick the hill your going to die on," and South Ossetia is by no means worth fighting for.
//At least they got 2 of them today.//
Maybe more. I read on BBC or Reuters that one of the downed aircraft was a TU-22M ‘Backfire’.
FWIW : Looks like militia to me,,,
Some “old” guys in that bunch,,,
Few helmets/canteens/etc.,,,
Lite/no ammo loads on some,,,
Bout 5 sec. into the tape it sounds like the tracks and
squeak noise of a BMP-1 and shows a wheeled vehicle,,,
I guess they put that tape together from what they had...
Thanks for the ping!
Iraq needs us around less and less now. They are getting it together in their own way. We should begin talking a country-to-country treaty now because that takes time.
Iran is next. Their leader has declared the destruction of Israel. It won't happen until after their elections. They have a douche bag Prime Minister now. And it won't happen until after our elections. If Obama or Mrs. Clinton happen to be elected here, it will definitely happen. While Bush has a few months in office.
Isreal will do it with our help in blinding Iran's radar systems. And watch for some AC carriers going to the eastern Med. in a few months. Along with subs with the SM-3 missiles.
And I will be doing 60 hour weeks again. John Bolton said what he knows.
Hamas is backing Obama to be our next President.
Hi, and thanks for the nice reply.
I would like to say that little Serbia was not the reason for WWI, but rather Austro-Hungarian imperialism and bullying. As for WWII, there were very few Serbians on the nazi side. They had a civil war between the royalist Chetniks and the communist partisans, but both factions hated the nazis. Yes, there was some collaboration with the occupiers, on both sides (chetnik and partisan - don’t let anyone tell you otherwise), but this is to be expected in a country occupied by nazi monsters. Before anyone condemns a nation for collaboration, remember that the British channel islands were occupied by the Germans in WWII, and there was no resistance against the nazis by our British friends there - none.
Anyway, hope you have a good day.
Not carpet bombing. Precision attacks with laser guided bombs. Hit the first and last couple of vehicles in the convoy, then pick off the rest at your liesure. Highway of Death, part Deux.
Nope, Jeff Head is correct, it's an Su-24. NATO code name "Fencer". Sort of an F-111ski, complete to terrain following capability, IIRC. It's not very heavily armed for the mission. The only weapons I see are a rocket pod under the right wing. Internal gun(s) as well of course.
Yes, but to complicate matters somewhat, the export versions, aka monkey model, of the -27 are nomenclatured -23. Biggest visible difference is the radome. Large and fat on the -23, smaller and pointier on the -27. Some differences in the engine inlets and undercarriage too, IIRC. Those are old birds, not quite as old as an F-4, but technologically similar to early F-4s.
So is Putin.
Maybe they have been, nothing says that isn't a stock photo released by the Russians.
Watching "Russia Today", I get the distinct impression this was all planned and laid out ahead of time, by the Russians.
'Terrorist State' Whenever someone starts telling us about shelling in Tskhinvali, it is important to keep in mind exactly what Tskhinvali is. It is not a city somewhere in the middle of a republic that is being fired upon by saboteurs. On three sides, Tskhinvali is surrounded by Georgian villages. The edge of Tskhinvali is a military outpost. South Ossetian forces fire from there into the Georgian villages, and the Georgians respond with fire of their own. To help keep Georgian fire from hitting civilians in the city, all the South Ossetians would have to do is move their military base forward a couple hundred meters. But, of course, it is a fundamental principle of terrorists the world over -- set up firing points in civilian areas and then when your enemy fires on you, you gleefully parade the bodies of your own children in front of the television cameras. Kokoity's terrorists are following this same principle. If South Ossetia can in any way be considered a state, it must be considered a terrorist state.
Very good article. I posted it earlier. Lots of valuable insight.
South Ossetia Crisis Could Be Russia's Chance To Defeat Siloviki
Adopted 2004.
Maybe, the S. Ossetians are fronts for the Russians, the same way Sadr and his thugs are fronts for the Iranians, if for slightly different reasons.
The 1,400 could be pure propaganda. Like "baby milk factories" or the devastation of South Beirut by the Israelis, as documented by AP photogs.
