Yeah, I guess they were in-country until ‘69. I was on the airfield at Phu Bai so I guess I missed them... even flying over the countryside... Oh, well. I’d love to have one now though. With that .50 cal spotting rifle and the message IT sends to your target... “If you don’t like ME, you’re damned sure not gonna like who’s coming NEXT!” I also liked the Mechanical Mule, which could have a 106 recoilless mounted on it. 106 was a lovely weapon. I recall hearing about one of the 5th Marines 106 teams hauling one to the second story of a house in Hue during Tet 68. They forgot about the backblast and blew out the whole back wall of the house when it went off.
