I've lived around here all my life. The news about the "heat sinks" surface every 10 years or so. The Sespe creek area is famous for it's hot springs. There's also Santa Barbara hot springs, Gaviota Hot springs and Wheeler's Gorge hot springs. In other words, the entire area is sprinkled with them. Back in the 60's, in fact, Wheeler's Hot Springs was something of an attraction where movie stars went to get immersed in mud for reasons that escape me. There was a boxing camp up there, too, since the area was known to have health benefits run by Pappy something. I use to ride my horse all over those hills and came across hot springs all the time. This was during the 60's, so I don't think this is anything earth shattering new. I don't even know what to say to the guy who posted a picture of an exploding city and then "if we're lucky".
