"We don’t have plans to call Congress into session — it won’t make a difference if Democratic leaders are unwilling to bring up a bill for an up-down vote,” said White House spokesman Tony Fratto.

Since this is the official position of the President of the United States--not to ask anyone to do anything they seem reluctant to do--may I assume, Mr. Fratto, that this official White House position applies consistently, and that I may ignore requests from the IRS?

The problem here is that the President can’t set the agenda. He can call them back but they don’t have to consider any legislation that he suggests.
