We who obsess over universal health coverage may soon confront a startling development: The only candidate on a major-party presidential ticket to have proposed and implemented a universal plan could well be a Republican. I speak of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, now high on the list of John McCain's possible running mates.

Hiding behind JimRob are you? Can’t argue your own case? Can’t stand on your own two debate feet? Need to try to bring in the big guns because you can’t take what you continually dish out to others?
History will show that Romney LOST because his policies
and flip-flop behavior were disliked.
Romney attacked the others through dirty tricks, fake law enforcement officers,
busing out-of-staters over state lines, and do forth .... and STILL lost.
Pro-lifers generally tend not to donate to Planned Parenthood!
You forgot to mention the reason I dislike him so much, his support of the Assault Weapon Ban and the Brady Bill.
Careful there little lady.
The Real Romney?

I respect that you didn’t get personal like some of the other Romney supporters here. You are a class act and I wish you luck too.
Vote for McCain all you want, but don’t condemn the other folks for having blinders on when you are voting for him with eyes wide open, knowing full well what he is.
I think you are talking about Refugio Road which goes from the Santa Ynez Valley to Refugio State Beach just north of Santa Barbara. Or you could have been driving on the San Marcos Pass; the old Wells Fargo route. The Reagan Ranch is actually on Camino Cielo but you reach it by taking Refugio. I live on Edison Street just past the 4 way stop at Sagunto in the Township of Santa Ynez. It is in the heart of Santa Barbara wine country and is a place beautiful beyond description.
Here is the band Elizabethan Report playing on our front lawn this year. This is a great band and remember you saw them here first. All these guys are HUGE Mitt Romney supporters. I did some stand-up featuring my adventures on the campaign trail stalking Mitt and the Elizabethan Report told me later how much they loved Mitt and loved the way I promoted him to a very Pinko audience.

Well, knock me over with a feather! An almost normal response, and no boldface! Keep it up Diogenesis, I know you’ve got it in you. Holding my nose and voting for McCain in spite of myself. He’s the one I worry about.
Well it appears McCain is headed for a big win in this election.
So I guess that means you’re out of touch with the Mainstream.
Romney lost because people didn’t think he was authentic. It’s not the voters fault they couldn’t trust the former governor from one of the most liberal states in America.
No.. Romney lost because we had three Republicans in the race.
Huckabee split the Republican vote. You know it and I know it.

OMG there is one post here by one person that changes everything everyone else said here. Good grief...........

Ok, this conversation, if you want to call it that, with you, has just come to an end. You can’t get off your bandwagon, you hate Romney regardless of his conversion to the political pro-life side, you want to hate him, and arguing with you about it is fruitless, pointless, and impossible. Besides which, you are one of those types of people who, when you can’t fight your own battles, invokes the “JimRob” tactic to try to intimidate your opponents. Not a good trait of yours. Small. Go argue with yourself, your favorite person.
It’s representative of the rest of the Romney haters.
It was in ‘87 and we came out of Lompoc and ended up past the ranch 4 hours later. All dirt and above the fog when we started.
