If Nancy Pelosi is truly trying to save the planet, then how can that happen if these other countries are drilling 30 miles off our shores?
His SUV's have already leaked that much in front of his Boston townhouse!
And GM had a $17+ billion loss for the same quarter. According to “windfall” rules, the government should give money to GM.
At least they should express sympathy.
At least they should recognize that high fuel prices are hurting our economy!
Lieberman is leaving cards on the table too...he let Kerry get away with the 11b exxon profit with no mention of the taxes they paid and in fact agreed an 11b profit was absurd. Kerry also got away with the 64 million acres of leases that the oil companies are not using ...BECAUSE THERE’S NO OILL THERE, JOE. Wake up.
Great analysis, Fish! I think they’re wrong about Americans getting used to the price in August. In October, just before the election, people will be ordering home heating oil at rates about double what they were last year. If they don’t like filling their gas tanks with a $50 bill they’re going to hate filling their oil tanks with ten $50 bills.
I didn’t think this was new news. The Democrats did this last year and are doing it again.
More reasons to vote Republican in 2008. Help rid us of Pelosi, Reid and the rest.
Just weird to have a Demmie and an Independent Demmie.
Really blanced.
Given the tax the Gov makes on every gallon they pretend it is some kind of a secret that cannot be divulged. Please....
I saw Palin the other day I think on Kudlow, she is awesome.
I think Lieberman is in a transition phase. Going just slow enough so his head doesn’t explode.
This has been true in the past but is slowly changing as new media takes hold. Justice, IMHO.
Mr. REID. Mr. President, I ask unanimous consent that when the Senate completes its business today, it stand in recess and convene for pro forma sessions with no business conducted on the following days and times and that following each pro forma session, the Senate recess until the following pro forma session: Tuesday, August 5, at 10 a.m.; Friday, August 8, at 11 a.m.; Tuesday, August 12, at 2 p.m.; Friday, August 15, at 10 a.m.; Tuesday, August 19, at 9 a.m.; Friday, August 22, at 10 a.m.; Tuesday, August 26, at 2 p.m.; Friday, August 29, at 2 p.m.; Tuesday, September 2, at 12 p.m.; Friday, September 5, at 9:30 a.m.; and further that when the Senate completes its pro forma session on Friday, September 5, the Senate stand adjourned until 3 p.m. on Monday, September 8; that following the prayer and the pledge, the Journal of proceedings be approved to date, the morning hour be deemed expired, the time for the two leaders be reserved for their use later in the day, and the Senate resume consideration of Calendar No. 732, S. 3001, the Defense authorization bill.
-- some parliamentary procedure should be available to Senator McConnell and Leader Boehner to act on energy legislation --
McConnell agreed with the schedule that Senator Reid put out - see "unanimous consent."
Watching Daschle lose the debate to Lindsey Graham on Fox...LOL
Not a real big fan of Graham, but sometimes he deserves a pat on the back...like now!
I don't know, but her interview should tell. I'll check through the thread and see what she says.
My favorite Senators of all time!!B&B!
