I just called our Rep's local office-Roscoe Bartlett R-Md. The staffer hadn't heard about this and called the D.C. Office while I was on the phone. She then told me that he was en-route to a meeting and not been aware of the situation. They are contacting him now. Could be one more voice! The funny thing was she was getting more animated as I was trying to describe the situation and then she said it was breaking news on her T.V. She seemed to grasp the urgency, and said he will be informed.

Alas we could not get 60 votes in the Senate to drill in ANWAR due to certain GOP Senators particularly a couple from Maine.

So what? If we had any kind of Republican leadership in the House or Senate during those six years, they would have kept their members in session during the traditional summer recess, Thanksgiving, and Christmas to force a debate on the issue. In addition, this debate is not (or should not be) about ANWAR. It should be about the development and implementation of a COMPREHENSIVE ENERGY POLICY that includes ANWAR and offshore drilling, refining capacity, nuclear power, natural gas, coal, hydro, wind, solar, thermal, conservation, and R & D.

I called my COngressman David Davis, R - TN1. His staffer said he was on his way home. I suggested he needed to get back.

She was interested in how I picked up the story and I told her about the thread.

Amen! Anyone in the DC area should go to the Capitol and demand to sit in the gallery to support the Republicans. It is time to take our Governmnet back.
