Meghan McCain: "I Almost Registered as a Democrat"
usmagazine.com ^ | July 31, 2008

Republican presidential candidate John McCain's daughter Meghan is just 23-years-old, but she's had her own political evolution.

"I almost registered as a Democrat to be rebellious, but I registered as an Independent instead," she tells Glamour in its September issue. "Then my dad bragged about it, so it backfired."

Meghan, a self-described "total daddy's girl," registered as a Republican as a Father's Day gift last month.

Though she's been crossing the country by bus to help the campaign, she takes issue with parts of the GOP platform.

"I don't relate to the hard right," she admits. "I think it's time to reinvent the Republican Party. And I think my dad can do it."

She sounds like a real airhead. This is why we should raise the voting age to 25 except for people in the military. Back in the old days, people were accepting the responsibilities of adulthood by the time they were 18 or 21. They weren’t living off daddy’s credit card. They were married, had a job, were paying taxes, and probably had some kids. Not to mention that they didn’t turn 18 after years of being brainwashed by the public schools and MTV.

Can you imagine Grover Cleveland, Andrew Jackson, FDR, or Harry Truman targeting the “youth vote”? The idea would have been ridiculous. This is another legacy of the 1960s, when our declining culture determined that the wisest voters were the ones with the least responsibilities and life experience.

Why do you so arrogantly assume someone is a liberal or a moderate just because they want to vote McCain? How can you just assume that? Did it ever dawn on you McCain-bashers that just maybe some of us want to preserve what freedoms we have when we can?

Do you need to swear at everyone that disagrees with you? Everyone is tired? How arrogant can you get? And who do you think you are? The pure and holy conservative?

And yes, I agree with this person. I don’t care to “read” the raving and ranting on here when Obama gets elected either! My advice to you is take it to some other board, and save your energy! Because not many(notice that I won’t say everyone or no one!) will read about it!

More than likely, this fine conservative board as well as others, might disappear if Obama and his crowd get in. Just think of that, and think really hard! I don’t want that to happen, most posters don’t, and I hope you don’t!

Ummm...did it ever dawn on you that I didn’t just ‘assume’ anything? Did it occur to you to read any of the back and forth of our argument for perhaps a bit of backstory? No? Oh, that’s right, because you’re a moron. Never mind. We wouldn’t want to tax that little brain of yours any more than necessary. But thanks for playing.

Well now, Mr./Mrs. high-and-mighty, wasn’t it Mr. Robinson’s decision? It is his board, don’t you know? Maybe you should just knock that nasty chip off your shoulder, and let the real owner decide who to let back on and get off your high horse? Are you going to tell him who is conservative enough for his board? I’ll bet you don’t have the guts do you?

Oh really? Did you ever hear the expression: “It takes one to know one”? I mean really, who is the real moron? Is that all you can do? Someone dares to stand up to you, and all you can think to do is call them a moron?

Come on, you can do better than that, can’t you? I don’t think calling me a moron, and talking about my “little brain” is going to cut it! But maybe you’re just a little too uncouth (there, can a moron use that word, LOL) to argue with me, so I’ll rest my case..

I’ll tell you what, when you can argue nicely, without insults and swear words, we’ll talk eh? Until then, I think not!

Young people are morons. Fortunately they don’t vote.

Hey now, take that back! Not all of us are dumb enough to vote for either one of the Democrats running for President, even the one with the (R) after his name.

We are exploring giving subscribers two different options for receiving pings: either to individual threads or to a single "digested" thread at the end of each calendar day. FReepmail rabscuttle385 if you are interested in receiving one or the other.

Take care to check the "mccainlist", "mccaintruthfile", "mcbama", "mcqueeg", and "mccain" keyword search links for related threads, since we can not possibly ping you to every relevant article that is posted. To flag a relevant thread, please add the keywords "mccainlist" and "mccaintruthfile".

Republican Commissar’s Warning: By joining this ping list, you may be subjected to the irrational rants and ramblings of McCainiacs, of "moderate" Republicans, of deeply confused conservatives resigned to voting for the lesser of two Democrats, and of countless trolls who simply want to meet a new overlord.

Per FR posting guidelines, we kindly ask that you be civil and polite in your comings and goings. Bonus points for being optimistic and in good cheer.

Why do you so arrogantly assume someone is a liberal or a moderate just because they want to vote McCain?

There is another possibility: that they are clinging desperately to the tiny sliver of hope that McCain might grant them a boon once or twice...or they are just plain stupid.

Purism never wins anything in the real world. You can go ahead and feel so good about yourself that you are PURE but at the end you will never win anything.

McCain isn't a purist. He's all for bipartisan compromise, and by that we mean that he usually makes us bend over for Ted Kennedy, et al.

I’m making a list here of all who must tell us, ad nauseum, that they will not vote for McCain.

Well, McCain's illegal amigos here aren't going to vote for him anyways, so why should I?

Conservatives don't let Democrats win elections.

They vote Republican.

And what happens if the Republican is a liberal?

Conservatives don't let liberals of any party win the election, but this assumes that the conservatives in question haven't sampled the RINO Kool-Aid.

You're saying I need good manners...and you're calling folks who vote for McCain in order to defeat Obama "RINO kool-aid drinkers?"

A spammer, a bore and a hypocrite...keep it up. Maybe you'll go four-for-four.

Let me elucidate further: they are extremely desperate, confused, and pathetic RINO Kool-Aid drinkers.
