I am happy the way I am. I don't fear ghosts, goblins, devils, or demons. If God exists, He can let me know anytime He wants. Well I'm so glad that you do not fear "ghosts, goblins, devils, or demons ." By the standard of God Who is Truth, such things are not to be feared by men.
If I had evidence, I would be a believer too.
Please see my earlier commentary re: "proof" in your situation.
The fact that so many believers are rude, semi-literate goobers makes it a hard club to join though.
This last is the statement of a cultural bigot.
Why do you think that Christians "are rude, semi-literate goobers?" Do you not know the magnificent history of the Church, its amazing legacy to mankind in the sciences and in philosophy? Which originally conceived the idea of the university? And whose members have articulated the most profound discoveries WRT man and his place in the universe over the past centuries?
Who is the "semi-literate goober" here, Soliton?

Why do you think that Christians "are rude, semi-literate goobers?" you shall know them by their fruits.

you shall know them by their fruits. Seems fair to me.
But if you're already prejudiced against them, how can you fairly assess their "fruits?"

These bastards think that theyll just start using this Common Era BULLSH... ER... and that eventually, no one will notice."
What's the problem?
BCE = Before the Christian Era
CE = The Christian Era
No problem.
Just the same, I know what you mean. { 8^)

It always takes faith. You have to believe that what you trust in is correct and that what others are telling you is right and true.
Jesus provided plenty of evidence that He was who He said He was between fulfilling Scripture to the miracles He performed that He said testified to Him.
Thomas doubted and Jesus gave him evidence. He told Thomas to stick his hands in His wounds.

That's not an answer to the question. Stop trying to change the subject and weasel out of it.
Do you have evidence that no truth stands beyond your comprehension?
I'd like to add: How are you sure that what you believe to be truth IS truth?

You're the one making the extravagantly categorical declarations here, my friend. Ball in your court.

Actually, they don’t term it “Christian Era” - they use “Common Era”, since the whole intent is to remove Christ from the reference.
It wouldn’t make any sense to change from the real notation to the CE/BCE notation if you don’t remove Christ.

Thanks, betty, for the ping. I sometimes miss the more interesting threads, but I can often count on you to flag me down. I especially appreciate the HiHo since my contributions tend to run from the meager to the virtually nonexistent.
This last is the statement of a cultural bigot.
May I say something here? I dont think being a rude, semi-literate goober is necessarily a Christian characteristic (or that of an Atheist, etc). Its a human characteristic that afflicts Christians and Atheists alike (Evolutionists even). So whenever I get assailed as a rude, semi-literate goober (actually, Ive never been hit with those particular pejoratives), Im pretty well assured that something else is bugging my assailant, and, you can be reasonably certain that a drive for political domination plays its part in the assault.

You know, here all this while, I never even noticed that you were such a goober.
One learns new things everyday!
Can we call you "goob" for short?
I mean, it's easier to pronounce than your freep handle. [how would one say it? yuh-house? yah-os? yowse?]
I'm only *semi*, myself, and don' talk too good, if you know what I mean...
