Though there was a lot of outrage expressed over someone pulling Obama's prayer out of the Western Wall, I personally figured he'd focus grouped the heck out of it first, knowing someone was going to get hold of it.
Well, it appears I was probably right. In fact, according to the Israeli paper that published Obama's prayer, he, well, from the New Republic:
the Obama campaign actually leaked the note to reporters before Obama even placed it in the wall. Yediot Aharonot, Israel's most popular daily, apparently also received a copy of the note in advance but decided not to print it.
Of course, as we could expect, Obama's campaign now denies the note was "approved for publication." Can we really believe that though? They leak the letter to the media and it is somehow not approved for publication? They aren't, after all, denying that they let it leak in advance. And even if they did, can we believe them now? I doubt it. There is less and less we can believe from Obama's press operation. Like candidate, like staff.
If Republicans talk about it this can definitely help McCain with Jewish voters I would think, who are already uneasy about Obama. Obama exploiting one of the most holy sites in Israel for political purposes I don’t believe will go over well...
I’m for world peace and long walks on the beach, AMEN.
“Wonder how God feels about prayers designed for political gain.”
No joke. Think about this. A prayer AT THE KOTEL
-— the site where G-d physically appeared
-— where the Ark of the Covenent was stored, and offerings made for sin, per the Law
intentionally made and leaked for political gain.
I am not sure how one could get any more blasphemous than that. It is truly a showing of contempt for G-d to try to use Him like that.
People who mock Him in matters related to the Temple tend to come to a bad end -— think “handwriting on the wall”
Are being serious.
Are you being serious.
B.O. is the biggest media whore of all time~ and yet...and yet, McCain has gained pts in national polls, leading B.O. 49/45
So having all the nets in his pocket, spending millions on ads (NBC Olympics...5 million), and his world tour, just didn’t do it.
LOL LOL LOL
All the king’s horses and all the king’s men...couldn’t...
The incomplete story of this so-called “lifted and leaked” prayer is playing towards peoples’ sympathies for Obama.
I’ve been all over the blogosphere this morning and comments are lopsided in defense of Obama’s privacy and outrage at what he has “suffered” at the hands of some of the Jewish people.
He is using the Palestinian’s favorite PR ploy: Pity for the poor victim of the Jews’ indiscretion.
It’s absolutely unforgivable of Obama and his campaign and I don’t think we should let this get brushed under the carpet.
Again, here is what I’m posting in the comments section at different blogs:
Its apparent that Obama and his campaign did disperse his prayer to media outlets in Israel. I have no idea who the Jewish student is or what place he has in this scenario, but Obama clearly wants the world to see his prayer.
Go to this link to Israel Insider. Halfway down the article you’ll find the new Obama campaign ad, complete with photos of Obama in church, Obama at the wailing wall, the text of his prayer flashing on the screen and beautifully accompanied by “Amazing Grace.” There’s also a request for a donation at the end - “Help Elect Obama!”

This is the first I have heard of this. Not a true believer in the cross? I can’t see how he could get the votes not believing in the cross.
