Reporting from Yorba Linda, about 5 miles west of the epicenter, it was one Hell of a shake! Some bricks on our house’s external facade peeled off and lamps and vases and other things were knocked off their shelves. I’ve never been this close to an earthquake’s epicenter and it the most violent shaking I’ve ever experienced in a Southern California earthquake.
I will take the sand storms and tornados here in Texas over fear of the BIG ONE coming to CA any day now.
They moved to Yorba Linda because, their last home was destroyed in the Whittier Narrows quake.
Can Guarantee ya... Northern CA is bracing. They always brace when SoCal gets a goody. I think we were visually taught that the San Andrea is like one long zipper; and if it popped on your end, we’d better keep an eye out on the smaller faults in the Bay Area.
