An earthquake is now rocking the Southern California area. (I'm near Dodger Stadium)
As I post this, the USGS has not yet determined the epicenter so click on the link above for the exact location and magnitude from the USGS.
Here are the maps for California and Los Angeles:

Here's the historical review of the last seven days:
Drudge Report is a hoot....check it out now...others have mentioned it ...
Therefore, I'm "lol". :)
Why is the real mayor of LA, Cal. not on the job?
There isn’t. I should have added the sarc tag.
I found it years ago after the Northridge quake. I find it interesting to view after major quakes around the globe.
You’re right. Here in Newport Beach I’m probably close to 30 miles away.
I think Northridge is still a trauma center.
Hey, maybe we can get side by side FEMA trailers! I wonder if the pet store by you will accept our FEMA debit cards? The babies simply MUST have new earthquake outfits!
Per FNC: Power outages affecting about 5,000.....
he is probably in Denver on his knees interviewing for his next job.
Just heard “On vacation.”
Depends...I remember in the early 80's here in the Inland Empire...what sounded like a freight train coming toward my house. Seconds later an earthquake hit. In '92 the Landers/Big Bear quake came from the same area and it too had that same sound although not as pronounced, but the quake was much greater. Most quakes don't give you that kind of warning. This one today, I didn't feel at all as I was driving. Rats. Nothing like a good earthquake to liven up the day.
Either it was a tremor or Sigfried & Roy collectively passed gas together.
Yup. A lot stronger.
It may be strange to say, but an earthquake at 5.8 might be a good thing...it doesn’t do a lot of damage, but relieves a lot of the stress and pent up energy on the fault.
That may mean a reduced chance of a much larger quake later.
Thoughts, anyone?
Hair and make up ... you know ...
Looks like 2 hours ago ...
Other than a flooding situation inside one department store in Woodland Hills, the LAFD has not discovered any significant event (no loss of life, no serious injury and no major infrastructure damage) IN THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES following today’s earthquake . The LAFD is now in a normal operating mode; -Humphrey ###
That cat will be nervous the rest of the day!
LOL! I will check with the Pet Boutiques up the street if they accept FEMA
We can get matching outfits for our cats.
