Talk show host Michael Savage made some controversial remarks (so what else is new) about kids who are said to be autistic.

I can just imagine the horde of screaming moms, flooding the station's switchboards in sheer anger.

Savage read all these/those guidelines on his radio show.. The show where he made the comment(s).. You seem to be overlooking what Micheal Savage SAID.. IMPLYIED.. and advocated.. Are you a democrat?... You seem to have missed something IMPORTANT..

He stated an “opinion” with overtones of fact on a medical issue he is not qualified in. The only thing he is qualified in is spaghetti sauce. The man opens his trap and makes a fool of himself. Great job on that lawsuit of his that he was begging his audience for monetary help in. He is an albatross in the conservative movement.

Registered republican, not sure what that has to do with this issue. More importantly I am the parent of a child with ADD,

Is fabricated. As my daughter says, “90% of all statistics are made up on the spot.”

Autism is a real problem. ADD is a real problem. There are individuals who suffer from these problems. Are there mis-diagnosis? Sure. Is the abuse to the system? Sure. But there is no justification for the “99%” figure.

You had said that there were no guidelines, with a quick Google search I found the guidelines for autism.

YES it is, probably.. he has had "experts" that study autism on the show.. that confirm this statistic..

Autism, should be and is rare.. ADD according to my experience is mostly an excuse.. mot totally but mostly..

What is NOT rare is spoiling children.. and looking to excuse that weakness of parents.. The children are not guilty of spoiling themselves, the parents are.. its a parent problem.. not a children problem.. Parents that will not put and enforce limits on the kids.. for various reasons..

I have followed this problem for 40 years.. after Dr. Spock that advocated spoiling the children.. Little wonder spoiled children has become a growing problem for @40 years..
