The Tsars built St Petersburg on a swamp and it said that as many serfs died as were pilings. Lenin, Trotsky, and Stalin expanded on this and so if hundreds of thousands were killed pre revolution, the bar was raised to over a million in the 20’s, over 10 million in the 30’s, and over 50 million in post war.

Of course we all know the Moltov-Ribbentrop pact, but how many remember the communist subversion of allied war machines in 1940, which, as much as the treason of Quisling in Norway, helped the Nazis take most of Europe.
