The statement was hyperbole, the point being parents are being told by their doctors that their toddlers and grade-schoolers have a this or that condition that requires a lifetime of medication.

I can only imagine if some of the worlds most productive and smartest people had been told they were not normal and began medication to suppress the undesired 'condition'.

Interesting..it may explain why a majority of children diagnosed with Autism come from extremely intelligent and mostly conservative parents.

there is no question that 50 yrs ago, kids that were a little different sat next to "normal" ones, and no one singled them out for being different....."that's just Mary...or that's just the way Robert is"

my dtr only takes medicine for her other condition.....I don't know what would work when you are an adult with Aspergers......'
