Sadly, McCain’s instincts are almost always wrong. His political career has been marked by ungrateful wins and bitter losses. His clumsy and reckless military career would not have been possible but for the platinum spoon he was born with. Now we have to hold our noses and vote for him to avoid his socialist opponent.
I think I’m staying home for the first time in 40 years.
I worked hard for Tancredo (I liked Hunter, too) here in FL. We all knew he wouldn’t win the primaries but he’s one of our heroes because he raised the consciousness of all Americans to the very serious threat posed by the illegal invasion. He, more than any other single person, alerted the nation to a very serious issue and made it a permanent part of the national conversation. In my opinion, he’s still the real winner!
Very good choice, I’d say.
Good point. There’s something about “behind closed doors” that the Straight Talk Express seems to like. If you recall, when the McCain/Kennedy “comprehensive immigration” amnesty bill was before the Senate many of the details were arranged behind closed doors. These sordid details were only reluctantly divulged when an outraged public demanded it.
..when the courageous Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama..
.. took to the floor of the Senate and exposed/revealed the plans McCain/Kennedy/etc.,w Bush approval made in secret.....thanks to Heritage Foundation, NumbersUSA, finding out about it.
Otherwise, and you better believe it, this would have been a done deal before the American citizens had any idea what had just happened to their sovereignty and way of life.
We were that close to losing it...
..save for Jeff Sessions and the millions of phone calls placed to the DC phone lines, the faxes, the letters, the personal visits!!!!
We closed down the phone lines!!....and by God's grace, stopped the bullet.
That bought us time to wake up and realize how much danger we're in!
I agree. He was my first choice for POTUS. But since he was a Rep. and lacked sufficient name recognition, I held out no great hope. I am glad he ran because it helped to popularize issues such as the dangers of illegal aliens.
Oh, this could be fun.

I love “the Tanc”, I wish he’d get help for his speaking issue.
Nice, thanks.

“No one to report what McCain promised the Hispanic leaders.”
Look back through the posts of Chicagolady. She was at one of his closed door events in Chicago.
He’s a Hispanic pandering old fool.
I’m glad you mentioned that. I just dug through my trash and found McCain’s stamped envelope and I too will put Tancredo’s letter in it!
You’re absolutely right! I sent Jeff Sessions a letter thanking him for all his tireless and brilliant work. I myself am a long-time Heritage member and they, too, deserve credit especially Robert Rector who was very active and influential. I still hear from NumbersUSA and support them. The fact is the VAST majority of Americans were awakened to the reality that we were being sold out by the Senate and they hit back! The list is long, as you indicated, but let’s not forget Lou Dobbs - who played a tremendous role!
And for those very reasons Guen, I am loathe to understand how John McCain EVER became our candidate. Perhaps it was decided for us at one of those “closed door” meetings?
Rush mentioned that McCain won because so many of the primaries were “open” and that you could be anything from a liberal Democrat to a Maoist and vote in them. He said there was certainly an element of “sabotage” involved. Here in FL we have a “closed” primary but McCain still won. I think that’s because FL has a state legislature that’s 2/3 Republican and Gov. Crist(R) and Sen. Mel Martinez(R) used their great influence to move the whole GOP machine in favor of McCain. We also have a very large number of active and retired military who love McCain. But, in general, I think Rush was right. Do you agree?
..that's why it didn't make a whit of difference when McCain was exposed & discredited after the Amnesty Bill....
He knew it wouldn't matter....he had been annointed to 'carry on'.
I still think it will be Obama/Clinton in the end ....with John McCain as the faux foil.....it's all a game to them.
We, the people, have no voice...
..or do we?
Good One!!!!
It's like triage one is forced to do while the real patient (ourselves) has been accumulating damage from our previous forced triages. THIS MUST STOP!
