That's not the point. The point is, is that there is a dearth of qualified Republicans for VP who has Gubernatorial experience. If you want McCain, who is already a flawed nominee to begin with, to pick Crist, Perry, or Huckabee, go for it, and you'll see even more conservatives staying home in disgust. If you want him to pick untested & unqualified potential nominees such as Palin, Jindal, Pawlenty, Sanford, or Rounds, go for it, which will neutralize Obama's dis-qualifications and he'll end up winning.
From a logical standpoint, Romney is the no-brainer choice for VP. He's got the money, the experience, and the executive skills who can be president in a pinch. He is libertarian on economic issues, supports the WOT, and he has always been center-right on social issues which will improve if he's the nominee. Complaining about Romney isn't going to get anyone anywhere - it's bad enough we have McCain. Time to make lemonade out of lemons and work with the choices arguably not given to us.
He (Romney) will also alienate even more voters that Republicans have counted upon to win, moving the party even further Left. On the up side, the magnitude of their defeat with Romney on the ticket would stain both men so badly that they would never figure on the national scene again.
As for Romney’s positions, the clothes he wears since running for president do not fit him. It is nigh impossible to convince so many people that he changed his mind on so many issues after working so hard to promote them in the past.
well said!
You’re living under the delusion that if McCain picks Romney, conservatives will vote for that ticket in droves. Not gonna happen.
If McCain picks the liberal Romney, he’ll be signing his own death warrant.
Romney’s conservative rhetoric during the GOP primary season didn’t impress most of us on the right. Didn’t impress you either. After all, you supported Ron Paul. McCain needs to pick a solid conservative and stay away from moderates, liberals and wackos too.

We agree.
