Hes being politically adept, you should know that. Quit projecting. He's showing his true colors as a liberal. McCain has been openly acting this way for decades. Political adeptness has nothing to do with it. McCain is liberal to the core.

I happened onto the Fox live link at McCain’s town hall meeting at GM. I’m no big fan, but I have to say I’m impressed at his taking on all comers with regard to any questions (economy, drilling, Iraq, etc.). He’ll take a question from the audience, answer it and turn back to the person asking and ask if they have a follow-up! So even if I disagree with some of his positions, I have to hand it to him for engaging in a back and forth dialog with voters, some not so friendly. He’d wipe Obama’s butt if they were together so its no wonder Obama doesn’t want any part of it.

I guess were supposed to just sit here and take itDid we "take it" when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
Did we "take it" when GW nominated Harriet Miers for the Supreme Court? Did we "take it" when the senate tried to force the amnesty bill on us? I consider not voting for McCain as taking it and giving it away.
Remember what Chesty said, "All right, they're on our left, they're on our right, they're in front of us, they're behind us - they can't get away this time."

It was McCain saying these words: "I have long admired the Vice President's work in the area of....."
Note that, per press reports, McCain was NOT talking about our current VP, but former VP Al Gore and his climate change scam.

We are exploring giving subscribers two different options for receiving pings: either to individual threads or to a single "digested" thread at the end of each calendar day. FReepmail rabscuttle385 if you are interested in receiving one or the other. Take care to check the "mccainlist", "mccaintruthfile", and "mccain" keyword search links for related threads, since we can not possibly ping you to every relevant article that is posted. To flag a relevant thread, please add the keywords "mccainlist" and "mccaintruthfile".
Republican Commissars Warning: By joining this ping list, you may be subjected to the irrational rants and ramblings of McCainiacs, of "moderate" Republicans, of deeply confused conservatives resigned to voting for the lesser of two Democrats, and of countless trolls who simply want to meet a new overlord. |

You mean, you are like the bride who marries an abusive wife-beating alcoholic, who has beaten her unconscious at least once a week during the engagement, but still marries him in hopes he will change and become a kind and loving husband later?
There is mental help available for your psychosis.

If the Republicans want to win, they had better get rid of McCain however they can. I agree.
Obama's candidacy gives republicans a chance to win the election in a year when all the other cards are stacked against them.
But the republican party never misses a chance to miss a chance so they will nominate one of the few people in the western world that Obama can defeat handily.
Ideally, party leaders would convince Mr. McEgo to step down for the better good - to have a medical crisis or something similar to save face.
But there is little chance of that from a party that can no longer even agree that it is a good thing to enforce our laws.
I see very little difference between an Obama or McCain presidency.
The biggest difference is that if McCain proposed some leftist scheme like Shamnesty or Cap and Trade republicans would follow him like sheep because he is republican whereas a few of them might still have the backbone and honor to fight the democrat, Obama, making the same proposals.

“Is he trying to make people who already have misgivings aplenty about him either stay home or vote for somebody else?”
If he actually WAS trying to throw the election, I fail to see HOW he would be doing it any differently.

I’m sure he will think of other, more creative ways to do it, given enough time.

I understand your point but can see nothing positive McCain can or be willing to do , especially with a supermajority of democrats, except continue to put the Republican name on liberal crap .
MORE STRAIGHT TALK: "I am for extending the tax cuts that I opposed, and that I worked with democrats to put THE time limit on, and I will extend those tax cuts as president even with a democratic supermajority”

You’ve got to keep the set of possibilities we face in mind. If you have a forced choice between an abusive wife-beating alcoholic who has never sent any of the victims of his temper to the hospital and an abusive wife-beating alcoholic who has sent several past wives to the morgue, would you criticize the bride for choosing the first one? It’s true that she submits to an asshole, but she hasn’t a choice. Our choices are Obama and McCain. They both have major deficits. Do you sincererly believe they are indistinguishably bad?
